Onigiri is also known as "Japanese Rice Ball" on occasion. It is a piece of rice with food inside, like plums or grilled salmon, or you can put just about anything that goes well with rice. Onigiri can be shaped like a triangle or a round. Onigiri is traditionally shaped with bare hands.  we'll use an Onigiri Mold to make the shaping part easier for beginners

Hinoki Onigiri Mold is a lovely wooden kit that makes Japanese rice balls of a medium size (5.5 cm / 2.2 inches tall) with grace and ease.

HOW TO USE IT

How to Apply:

• Use water to rinse the mold (this keeps rice from sticking).

• Fill the holes with Japanese short grain rice.

• Add a little filling of your choice (such as salmon, umeboshi, or canned tuna with mayonnaise and soy sauce) to the center of the rice.

• Add more rice to the cover and press down hard.

• Remove the onigiri carefully from the mold and enjoy!

For quick and simple seasoned rice onigiri, you can also combine the rice with Furikake before placing it in the mold.












Careful Particulars:


• Measurements: 17.2 cm (6.7 in.) by 7.5 cm (2.9 in.) by 3.4 cm (1.3 in.)

• Wash by hand only. Do not soak for an extended period of time in water.


Wipe with a dry, soft cloth after you've washed it.  Please do not use this for bread cutting because doing so will damage the surface!










Regarding Hinoki Wood:








• Hinoki is a kind of cedar wood found in Japan.



It is known to have natural antimicrobial properties and makes food taste better by absorbing excess moisture.




• Hinoki is frequently used to make bento boxes and food containers.










• How to Use an Onigiri Mold:




Put fresh, sticky white rice from your rice cooker into a bowl and sprinkle it with salt or furikake. Combine and allow the rice to slightly cool



. Use water to rinse the onigiri mold to prevent the rice from sticking



. Make a small indentation in the seasoned rice to accommodate your fillings and fill the mold halfway.





Fill the rest of the mold with more rice after adding a spoonful of the filling of your choice.




A Push down hard on the lid to cover the container. To release your onigiri, remove the lid, flip the mold over, and press the "button" on the bottom. Eat with a piece of roasted nori added.
