Sugo is an Italian word which mean sause. Typical tomato sauce is sugo, which in Italian means "sauce." It is not, contrary to popular belief, tomato passata, which is concentrated tomato puree that has been sieved.

Ingredients:
1: 1 chopped onion
2: 4 halved cloves of garlic
3: 2 14-ounce cans of passata (crushed tomatoes)
4: 4 cup fresh basil torn in half
5:salt to taste
Buy Chili oil to enhance taste

Method:
In a saucepan, heat the oil over low heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook and stir for about 5 minutes until soft and translucent. Basil, passata, and salt are added. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes over medium heat until the tomato sauce thickens. Eliminate garlic parts prior to serving.
Tips
Instead of the onion, you can use 2 shallots. If you have the time, you can simmer the sauce much longer for a more intense flavor.
