[  ] 3 cups uncooked penne pasta (about 12 ounces)
[  ] 1 can (28 ounces) whole plum tomatoes
[  ] 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
[  ]  1 medium onion
[  ]  1 medium carrot
[  ] 1 celery rib
[  ] 4 minced garlic cloves
[  ] 2 tablespoons tomato paste
[  ]  1 teaspoon dried oregano
[  ]  1/2 teaspoon salt
[  ] 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
[  ] 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
[  ] 1/4 teaspoon pepper
[  ]  1 can (15 ounces) cannellini beans

[  ] 2 cups shredded fontina or provolone cheese
[  ]  1/2 cup divided grated Parmesan cheese
[  ]  1/2 cup divided minced fresh parsley

How to make  pasta  al forno?


Step1:

Al dente pasta should be cooked as directed on the package; drain



Step 2:


In the meantime, drain the tomatoes, saving the juices; chop tomatoes finely. In a 6-qt. In a stockpot, cook the sausage with the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic in a crumble over medium-high heat until it is no longer pink, about 6 to 8 minutes; drain.

















Step 3:


Add seasonings, chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and the juices you saved; boil for a while. Absorb heat; simmer for ten minutes, uncovered.


Step 4:


Add the beans and 1/4 cup each of parsley and Parmesan cheese. Mix in the pasta. Move the pieces to a greased 13x9-in. frying pan; Sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese and fontina cheese.


Step 5:
Bake for 20 minutes, covered. Uncover; Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Add the remaining parsley to the dish.
















How to store and freeze pasta al forno?


Warm, unbaked casserole; freeze under a cover. Thaw a portion in the refrigerator overnight before using. 30 minutes prior to baking, remove from the refrigerator. Bake at 350 degrees. Bake the casserole according to the instructions, increasing the time as necessary to heat it through and ensure that a thermometer inserted in the middle registers 165°
